The Rock to play BC in fourth game of CRC

The Rock will play their fourth game of the 2011 Canadian Rugby Championships on Saturday August 27th at the Swilers Complex at 3pm. Following comprehensive defeats to both BC and Ontario the Rock are under pressure to perform well vs BC. The loss of 4 players to RWC had an impact on the quality of play of the Rock, but injuries to key players have had a more substantial impact. For the BC game Peter Densmore, Sean O’Leary, Chris Burt, Morgan Williams and Tyler Wish are out, Kevin Parfrey is doubtful, and Simon Pacey is unavailable. Geoff Warden is likely to return.

" I don’t think the scoreline v Ontario reflected the general play, as the Rock did well in the tight forward exchanges against the big Ontario pack. However our backline defence was disappointing, and both tackling and structure need to improve" commented Rock co-Coach Pat Parfrey. "We have had difficulty in replacing some key players but believe the introduction of new young players will serve us well in the future. Coping with adversity is a key component of elite sports, and I am optimistic our team will improve. The BC backline is exciting with 2 Fijian flyers and quality players in Eric Wilson, Sean Duke and Sean Ferguson"
